Family Beach Trip Stop #2: Ocean Isle

Nelson and I headed straight from Pawleys Island to Ocean Isle to be with my family for our annual beach trip. It just happened that Matt's and my family's trips were back to back. Unfortunately Matt could not come to Ocean Isle due to work.

It was so nice to be with my mom, my aunts and uncles: Donna and Wilbur and Dick and Sandra, Mimi and Papa, and my cousins: Frankin, Grayson, Richard, and Laura.

The guys enjoyed golf and playing cards at night. The women enjoyed hanging out on the porch in the rocking chairs.

Nelson loved having all the extra attention from his aunts!!! Donna made ribs for dinner one night, and as you can see he really enjoyed the bones!

It was so nice to be with all my family, although we missed those who could not be with us.

Family Beach Trip Stop #1: Pawleys Island

We headed to Pawleys Island with Matt's whole family to celebrate his parents' 70th birthdays. We stayed in an amazing house courtesy of one of Franklin's friends. We enjoyed the beach, pool, and just hanging out on the porch of the house.

Aunt Courtney brought the fixings for tie-dye, which was so much fun. After it dried, we rinsed it out in the ocean water (notice the item that Uncle Stephen decided to tie-dye!).

Nelson was hesitant of the ocean, but loved the sand. He also loved being around all of his cousins. They are all so sweet to him!

Mrs. Daniels said it has been at least 25 years since all of them have been together on a beach trip. It was a wonderful time together as family.

Naptime!

Matt happened to catch Nelson and Mommy napping on the couch together! I will admit I’ve been a little extra tired lately!!!

At the Lake

We love going to my parent’s lake house, and have tried to go as much as possible before baby #2 arrives! We went for one night. My parents (Doc and Kitty!), and Uncle Bryant spent the night too. We had such a nice time!

Visit with Wes

One of Matt’s good college friends came to visit for the night. Nelson really took to him…he took every toy out of his toybox, and showed them to Wes one by one! Wes was such a good sport, and very sweet to our little man!

Playgroup at our house

We actually had 2 playgroups at our house on the same day…one in the morning with our church group, and one in the afternoon with our neighborhood group.

Matching Mowers

This is one of Nelson’s best friends in the neighborhood. She lives a few doors up, and she and Nelson love to play together! They even have matching mowers…except hers is pink!

Lite-Brite is BACK!!

Do you remember Lite-Brite? I loved mine as a kid and now they are BACK and kid-friendly (read into that, not quite as much fun because they are harder to swallow)!!!

Lake trip with friends

Some of our good friends from church, Kimberly and Jay joined us at the lake. Their daughter Claudia is around Nelson’s age, and they always have fun together! She is also expecting their second baby, who is due the week after baby Daniels #2!

You’ll also notice Nelson sitting in his raft reading a book…he was ready to leave for the lake!!!

BUBBLES!

Nelson LOVES bubbles. We put the bubble machine in the yard and attracted several of the passing neighbors!
