It's a BOY!!! Steele Daniels has arrived!!!

Katherine and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our second son, Franklin Steele Daniels. Katherine pushed for a whopping 3 minutes and Steele arrived at 6:43am this morning. Steele was 7 pounds even and was 19 ½ inches long and beautiful! I’ve attached a few quick pictures, but check back here for more updates!

On the way to the hospital....

This is our last photo as family of three! Here we are bout to head out to the hospital. We put Nelson down for the night and our neighbor Michael was kind enough to stay in the house until Kitty & Doc arrived. Doc had to leave to head back to Spartanburg, but we appreciate him bringing Kitty. Gran Gran and Bobby arrived around 11:30. Fortunately, everyone was able to get a little sleep before Steele was born at 6:43am the next morning, but it was nice to know that our parents were already here!

Katherine wasn’t feeling well, she had a terrible cold, so I went to church with Nelson in the morning and then out with the Webb’s to ImaginOn… Nelson had a blast, riding Charlotte’s light rail line for the first time, going to his first rock concert (albeit a children’s rock band), dancing in the aisles, playing in the library (Nelson even looks like he knows that he’s doing at a computer… must have learned that from someone!) and having a fun ride back home. Little did we know not only was Katherine not feeling well, but by the time I got back home at 6:30 Katherine's water had already broken and we were heading hospital before we knew it!

Day at the Park (day before labor started)

We spent a leisurely Saturday at Freedom Park and even discussed with some friends we saw how Katherine was due in about 2 weeks… little did we know less than 24 hours later we’d be heading to the hospital!

24 Hours of Booty!

Charlotte is really such a neat place to live, we even have a bicycle loop called the Booty Loop which Matt rides often. Every year they close off the loop for 24 hours and 1,500 cyclists ride for 24 hours to raise money for cancer research for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, check out the website here. Matt missed the registration this year because they limited the number of riders, but he’ll be doing it next year…. Someone even decorated one of our local statues on the Booty Loop with a cycling helmet!

Dinner with the Britt's

We had dinner with our good friends Adria and David and their cute daughter Charlotte at one of the coolest establishments in Charlotte for a burger and ice cream…. Mr. K’s! We always have a great time with them and Nelson and Charlotte had a blast as you can see!
